A leading infrastructure and utilities contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join an established commercial team supporting a portfolio of long-term framework projects. Operating across essential infrastructure sectors, the business offers a stable pipeline of work, strong career development opportunities and the chance to work on projects that deliver critical services across the UK.

Your new role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of multiple projects from inception through to final account. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing client applications
  • Managing subcontractor accounts
  • Administering variations and compensation events
  • Monitoring project costs
  • Producing accurate forecasts

Working closely with operational and finance teams, you will play a key role in maintaining contractual compliance, identifying commercial risks and opportunities, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with commercial objectives.

The position can be based in either Cardiff or the North West, with regular collaboration across project and commercial teams.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering or construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial management principles.
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Good financial and commercial awareness with the ability to produce accurate forecasts and cost reports.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a construction-related discipline.
  • Utility sector experience, including water, wastewater, gas, power, or telecoms projects, would be advantageous.
