Purpose

Ensuring all commercial matters are properly managed and controlled to limit exposure to risks and maximise profitability for the company whilst ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and that commercial strategy is developed and delivered in accordance with the company requirements.

Specific Duties

Reporting

  • Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level
  • Completion of internal budgets along with relevant budget analysis
  • Frequent review of job specific P&L before, during and after site builds
  • Ensure payment applications or final accounts are being submitted in accordance with the customer SLAs
  • Ensure queries for payment applications or final accounts are progressed in a timely manner as per company expectation, or in accordance with customer SLAs
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly commercial reports (CVR)

Processes

  • Ensure any commercial risks associated with the contract are identified and mitigated
  • Help ensure that commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit
  • Actively seek to improve processes and procedures

External relationships

  • Ensure that the supply chain are engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions
  • Ensure that key stakeholder relationships are maintained
  • Ensure swift settlement of supplier / subcontractor final accounts and assessments
  • Join customer calls and attend meetings when required

Internal relationships

  • Ensure effective interaction between the commercial team and the operational delivery teams
  • Assist the Commercial Team with any high priority tasks
  • Assist with the completion of periodic PDRs for junior members of the commercial team when required
  • Assist the Commercial Director with any high priority tasks

Key measures & targets

  • Accurate monthly forecasting
  • Ability to challenge resources and costs
  • Maintaining deadlines in line with monthly commercial calendar

  • Accomplished in outlook, excel and proficient in the rest of the Microsoft suite of packages
