Quantity Surveyor
We are currently hiring for a Quantity Surveyor to join the projects division of a specialist social housing contractor.
The role sits within a small, experienced commercial team. It carries commercial responsibility for a recently secured retrofit refurbishment contract, delivered in partnership with a local authority client across high rise residential blocks. The works are external and construction-led, including mass climber scaffolding, cladding renewal and associated works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full commercial management of the retrofit contract, securing full contractual entitlement
- Acting as subject matter expert on contractual arrangements
- Monitoring job costs and revenue, and producing accurate cash flow forecasts and revenue profiles
- Maximising cash flow through invoicing and resolving client queries
- Financial reporting and cost control governance
- Supporting project teams to meet or exceed budget targets
- Identifying potential issues early and managing disputes
- Producing subcontractor orders and onboarding suppliers
- Contributing to team development

Essential:
- Industry-related qualification
- Contractor-side QS experience, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor
- Experience in a Senior QS role, or an established QS ready for the next step
- Advanced Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables and formula development
- Experience of management accounts
- Contractual awareness, with strong negotiation and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
Desirable:
- Social housing refurbishment experience
- Retrofit or external refurbishment works experience
- Knowledge of NEC4 contract conditions
- Knowledge of contract law
- Experience in dispute resolution
- Experience on significant, complex multi-disciplinary contracts
- Accountancy or construction-related qualification, held or in progress

Package:
- Salary: Up to £60,000
- Hours: Full time, permanent
- Location: Bristol, 3 days per week onsite
