Quantity Surveyor

Hays Construction is delighted to be partnering with a well-established Capital Works Contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of projects on behalf of a high-profile government organisation across Fife and the surrounding region.

Due to a strong and secure pipeline of works, our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their settled commercial team based in Dunfermline. This role offers a refreshing alternative to the pressures often associated with the contracting market. The Role

Working closely with the Commercial Manager and operational teams, you will be responsible for the commercial management of a range of capital works projects from inception through to final account. Key duties will include:

  • Managing project costs and budgets.
  • Subcontractor procurement and account management.
  • Valuations, variations and change control.
  • Cost reporting and forecasting.

What You'll Need

  • Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector.
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills.
  • Experience administering construction contracts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit commercial team.
