Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Bridgwater. The Quantity Surveyor will prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ), support cost planning and cost control throughout project lifecycles, and assist in preparing tenders and valuations. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring budgets, updating cost reports, assessing variations, and supporting financial forecasting for ongoing projects. The role also involves collaborating with project managers, site teams, and suppliers to ensure accurate cost information and timely reporting, while helping to maintain compliance with contractual and company standards.

Qualifications

- Strong cost planning and cost management skills, with the ability to develop and maintain project budgets.
- Experience in cost control and cost reporting to track financial performance and support decision-making.
- Proficiency in preparing and interpreting BOQ and other quantity surveying documentation.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and standard industry practices.
- Competence with MS Excel and project cost management software, with solid numeracy and analytical skills.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Previous experience in the UK construction sector, particularly within regional or SME contractors, is beneficial.
