An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering one of Bristol's most significant commercial redevelopment projects.

Our client has secured a £74m city centre refurbishment and office fit-out scheme, creating a high-quality, sustainable commercial workspace. They are looking to strengthen their commercial team with an ambitious Quantity Surveyor who has experience working on complex construction projects and is looking to further their career on a flagship development.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in the commercial management of the project from procurement through to final account. Working alongside the wider project team, you will ensure costs are effectively controlled while supporting the successful delivery of the scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial administration of subcontract packages.
  • Prepare valuations, cost reports, and forecasts.
  • Assist with procurement and subcontractor management.
  • Assess and value variations, change control, and compensation events where applicable.
  • Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of monthly cost value reconciliations.
  • Assist with the agreement of final accounts.
  • Build positive working relationships with the client, consultants, and supply chain.

About You

We're looking for a commercially driven Quantity Surveyor who has experience delivering major construction projects and is keen to develop within a leading main contractor environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Experience on commercial refurbishment, office fit-out, retrofit, or cut & carve projects is highly desirable.
  • Main contractor experience, ideally with a Tier One or established regional contractor.
  • Good knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
