You will play a key role within the Commercial team
You will play a key role within the Commercial team in delivering quality projects for our clients, whilst developing both personally and professionally as a Placement Student. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join our vibrant team.
We have opportunities across both our Civil Engineering and Construction teams.
About The Role
You will be responsible for providing support to the Commercial team in the following areas:
- QS support: providing support to the QS’ and commercial manager in negotiating and appointing subcontractors to scheme.
- Commercial: assisting with commercial matters with clients.
- Subcontractors: assisting with the management of sub-contractor packages.
- Valuations and variations: supporting with the submissions of all valuations and variations on schemes.
- Costs: identifying cost issues.
- Site visits: visiting sites to view works completed, quality and management of costs.
- SHEQ: adhering to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance standards.
- Liaison: building strong working relationship with Clients, Contracts Managers and Site teams to deliver quality projects.
- Policies & Procedures: complying with all company systems and procedures, including the Information Management Systems.
- Other: any other task commensurate with this role.

Your Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Knowledge: working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant discipline.
- Skill: the ability to plan, organise and prioritise and work to meet deadlines using your own initiative.
- Skill: excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- Skill: proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.
- Experience: previous work experience in a similar role would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Skill: full valid driving licence with access to a vehicle would be essential.
