Role Outline
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial management of multiple wastewater projects, ensuring financial performance is maximised while supporting successful project delivery from tender through to final account.
Working closely with our Project Managers, operational teams and clients, you'll provide commercial expertise, identify opportunities to improve profitability and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cost plans, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Identify, price and negotiate contract variations and compensation events.
- Produce accurate monthly cost reports and financial forecasts.
- Procure subcontractors and manage subcontract agreements.
- Assess subcontractor applications, payments and final accounts.
- Support Project Managers with commercial advice throughout project delivery.
- Ensure contracts are administered in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities, providing practical solutions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Requirements

- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the water, wastewater, utilities or civil engineering sectors.
- Good understanding of contract administration, ideally NEC contracts.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills.
- Experience managing project costs from pre-construction through to completion.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline (preferred).
- Membership of RICS or working towards chartership is desirable.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Right to Work in the UK on a permanent basis.
