Quantum Photonics Engineer | Bristol
Location - Bristol
Salary - £60,000 / £65,000

About the Role
As a Quantum Photonics Engineer, you’ll contribute to the design, simulation, fabrication, and experimental validation of advanced quantum photonic integrated circuits, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to develop cutting-edge technologies from concept through to deployment.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and optimise quantum photonic integrated circuits.
- Develop and model integrated photonic architectures for quantum networking applications.
- Support fabrication and tape-out activities with semiconductor foundries.
- Build and operate laboratory test setups for characterising quantum photonic devices.
- Analyse experimental results and use data to refine future designs.
- Collaborate with engineering and research teams to develop practical, manufacturable quantum technologies.
We’d Love to Hear From Candidates With Experience In Areas Such As:
- Quantum photonics or integrated photonics.
- PIC design and simulation.
- Nonlinear optics, single-photon technologies, or quantum optical systems.
- Silicon photonics, silicon nitride, indium phosphide, or other integrated photonic platforms.
- Optical laboratory testing and experimental characterisation.
- Python, MATLAB, or similar programming for modelling and data analysis.
- A background in quantum optics, photonics, physics, or electrical engineering.
