At Heidelberg Materials, we're looking for a motivated and safety-conscious Quarry Operative to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic quarry environment, operating a variety of mobile and static plant while contributing to the production of materials that help build the communities around us.

About The Role

As a Quarry Operative, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of quarry equipment and processing plant. Working closely with site management and operational teams, you will help ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Operating mobile and static plant safely and efficiently in line with company procedures and training.
  • Carrying out routine plant maintenance, including refuelling, greasing and cleaning.
  • Supporting the operation of the main processing plant and associated equipment.
  • Completing daily plant inspections and reporting any defects or issues.
  • Ensuring equipment is maintained in good working order and operated economically.
  • Reporting faults, defects and operational concerns to the General Foreman.
  • Contributing to a positive safety culture by identifying and reporting near misses.
  • Assisting with general site housekeeping and maintenance activities.
  • Supporting colleagues across the site as required to achieve operational objectives.

What We're Looking For

  • A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Experience operating mobile plant within a quarry, construction, industrial or similar environment is desirable.
  • A proactive and reliable approach to work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A willingness to undertake training and gain additional plant operation competencies.
  • The ability to work flexibly and support operational requirements across the site.
