This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of our quarry while developing your skills within a global industry leader. Whether you're already experienced in quarrying, construction materials, plant operations, or heavy industry, or you're looking to build on your existing skills, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Quarry Operative, you'll support the day-to-day operation of the quarry by safely operating a range of mobile and static plant equipment and helping to maintain a productive, efficient, and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate mobile and static plant equipment safely, efficiently, and in accordance with site procedures and training.
- Carry out daily inspections of plant and equipment and complete all required records.
- Report any defects, faults, or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Undertake routine maintenance tasks, including refuelling, greasing, cleaning, and general housekeeping.
- Assist with the operation of the main processing plant as directed by site management.
- Ensure plant and equipment are operated in the most economical and efficient manner.
- Support production activities to maintain operational performance and site targets.
- Complete near miss reports and actively contribute to a positive safety culture.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high operational standards across the site.

- Follow all Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and site procedures.
- Take personal responsibility for maintaining a safe working environment.
- Support continuous improvement of health and safety performance across the site.
- Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, and near misses.
- Participate in training, toolbox talks, and development activities.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Strong understanding of the importance of health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow operating procedures.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good general education and the ability to understand operational and safety documentation.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- EPIC certification for mobile plant operations.
- NVQ Level 2 in Mobile Plant Operations.
- Previous experience operating heavy plant machinery.
- Experience within quarrying, construction materials, aggregates, mining, manufacturing, recycling, or a similar industrial environment.
