About CM Marine Limited
CM Marine Limited is a maritime training provider delivering MCA-aligned courses online. We're building a bank of high-quality oral exam practice questions for candidates preparing for their MCA Part A Oral Examination - leading to a Certificate of Competency as Officer of the Watch (Unlimited) or Master 200.
The Role (Freelance / Remote)
- Write original oral exam practice questions aligned to the MCA Part A oral exam syllabus for OOW Unlimited and/or Master 200 CoC
- Provide model answers, examiner-style follow-up prompts, and references to relevant regulations (MGNs, MSNs, COLREGs, STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL etc.)
- Flag common candidate pitfalls and what a "pass-standard" answer looks like
- Work with us to format questions for our online learning platform (Moodle)

Essential
- Current or former holder of a relevant UK CoC (OOW Unlimited, Master 200, or higher) - or significant experience as an MCA oral exam tutor/assessor
- In-depth, current knowledge of the MCA oral exam syllabus and question style
- Excellent written English and attention to detail

Desirable
- Experience as a maritime lecturer, trainer, or MCA examiner
- Familiarity with Moodle question banks or instructional design
- Sea time on tugs, offshore vessels, or other small commercial vessels (particularly relevant for Master 200 candidates)
