Based in our Macclesfield office and reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the ideal candidate will be a customer-oriented self-starter capable of contributing to a high-performance company. The role requires effective engagement, collaboration, and relationship management with other enabling functions, our Heads of Sales and our Business Unit Leaders for each brand specialism. Through the commercial partnership, the Quote Specialist (hereafter QS) will be required to nurture strong relationships with the sourcing teams within the NHS and all customers. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent external and internal customer focus throughout.

The QS will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and profitability of Uniphar Medtech by sustaining existing business, securing new business opportunities through continuous request for quote submissions and effectively managing contractual relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop & execute competitive quotations by considering optimal product requirements and tailoring commercial considerations to suit each specific situation.
  • Track all provided quotations and make adjustments as needed.
  • Where possible implement pricing standards that keep our products competitive and maximise profit.
  • Supporting the internal sales team across the UK with technical support as needed.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to gather necessary information and ensure alignment between customer needs and proposed solutions.
  • Assessing incoming requests for quotations from customers, ensuring all necessary details and specifications are included.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of quotations, pricing, and correspondence with customers for future reference and analysis.
  • Keep up-to date with market trends, competitor pricing strategies, and industry developments to refine pricing and quotation approaches.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in the quotation procedure to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Produce regular reports on submitted quotations, analysing win/loss reasons and conversion rates.
  • Establish and maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs.
  • Provide any necessary support to the commercial field sales during technical meetings with customers.
  • Collaborate with various departments (i.e., Tenders, Procurement and Customer Service) to ensure precise quotations and accurate leads.
  • Provide support to the Tenders Department as needed.
  • Demonstrate availability and a willingness to support various projects at the MedTech level.
  • Continuously enhance request for quotations conversion and success rates by refining processes.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Solid financial/commercial acumen with an analytical mindset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders, develop and maintain strong working relationships, notably with our front-facing procurement customers within a hospital setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge is essential.
  • Delivery of measurable results, makes and meets commitments.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding set KPIs and targets.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring work is executed accurately and completely.
  • Demonstrates energy, real initiative, and ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and flexible to adapt within a changing environment.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness to deliver a high-quality service.
  • Sense of ownership for the assigned tasks.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Previous experience of working with Navision or Microsoft Business Central, an advantage.
  • Fluent in English both written and oral.
