About the Role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a R Developer with Bio Background based in United Kingdom.

Join a mission-driven engineering team where your expertise in R, data science, and life sciences will contribute to impactful solutions across drug discovery and clinical research. In this role, you will design and develop data-driven applications that help scientists and researchers make better decisions using complex biological and clinical data. You will combine software engineering skills with domain knowledge in bioinformatics, clinical workflows, and regulated environments. Working alongside experienced engineers, data scientists, and life science specialists, you will build scalable solutions with real-world scientific impact. This fully remote opportunity offers strong ownership, technical challenges, and the chance to grow within a collaborative, innovation-focused environment.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain R-based solutions for statistical programming, data analysis, visualization, and scientific workflows supporting life science and healthcare projects.
  • Build interactive applications and data tools using R/Shiny to help researchers and clinical teams explore, interpret, and act on complex datasets.
  • Design, implement, and maintain reproducible data processing pipelines while following software engineering and quality standards.
  • Work with clinical, scientific, and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, manage priorities, and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Apply knowledge of clinical trial processes, bioinformatics workflows, and regulated environments to deliver reliable and compliant data solutions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of reusable R packages, tools, and frameworks that improve scalability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex data challenges across areas such as drug development, clinical research, and biological analysis.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in R programming for statistical analysis, data manipulation, visualization, and application development.
  • Experience working with life sciences, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or related scientific domains.
  • Knowledge of CDISC standards including SDTM, ADaM, and SEND, along with familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Experience with TLF programming (Tables, Listings, and Figures) and understanding of clinical data reporting processes.
  • Knowledge of validation principles and working practices within GxP-regulated environments.
  • Experience with Medical Data Review, Pharmacovigilance, and clinical trial workflows.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems and modern software development practices.
  • Experience gathering requirements, managing backlogs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Master’s degree in bioinformatics, computer science, data science, biostatistics, mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Additional experience with R/Shiny applications, Nextflow pipelines, bioinformatics tools and databases, molecular biology concepts, Bioconductor, BLAST, NCBI, EMBL, PDB, PubMed, or R package development is considered an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote international environment and communicate clearly in English.
