Position Summary
SBCE Clerical Support – Work-Study employees provide clerical, office, and general operational support to faculty and staff within the School of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering. Responsibilities may include preparing and organizing files and documents; scanning and digitizing records; scheduling meetings and appointments; performing data entry; preparing routine materials; and providing other clerical and office support as directed.
Assignments are based on departmental needs, student qualifications and experience, Work-Study eligibility, and availability.

Varies based on departmental needs, Work-Study award limitations, and student availability, up to 20 hours per week.
Required Job Qualifications
- Current student in good academic standing.
- Eligible for and awarded Work-Study funding for the applicable employment period.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with common office productivity applications.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks accurately and reliably.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student, employee, departmental, and other protected information.

Preferred Job Qualifications
- Previous clerical, office, customer service, or related work experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar productivity tools.
- Experience with document preparation, spreadsheets, data entry, scheduling, scanning, digitization, or records organization.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and other university personnel.
- Ability to learn new systems, processes, and technologies as needed.
Essential Duties
- Prepare, organize, scan, digitize, file, and maintain documents and records.
- Assist with electronic and physical records organization and document management.
- Perform data entry and maintain spreadsheets, databases, tracking tools, and other records as assigned.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, events, and other activities.
- Prepare documents, forms, correspondence, presentations, and routine office materials.
- Organize and compile information and materials for faculty, staff, meetings, programs, projects, and departmental activities.
- Provide general clerical and office support to faculty and staff as assigned.
- Assist with routine communications, information requests, and follow-up activities.
- Support departmental projects, events, programs, and other operational activities.
- Use designated university systems, software, and office technologies as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of student, employee, departmental, and other protected information.
- Complete assigned work accurately and within established timelines.
- Perform other clerical and office support duties as directed by faculty or staff.
