Position Summary

Laboratory Animal Resources is seeking a reliable, self-motivated Inventory Assistant to join our Business Office team. This position provides inventory support across three campus inventory locations and plays an important role in ensuring the efficient management and distribution of supplies.

  • Commitment: 8 to 10 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling: Available to accommodate class schedules
  • Work hours: Scheduled between 7:30am and 4:00pm
  • Holiday work: May be required based on operational needs
  • Weekend shifts: Not required

  • Availability: To work three days per week (Monday through Friday)
  • Valid driver's license: With the ability to successfully pass a motor vehicle background check
  • Driving: Ability and willingness to drive a university vehicle/van
  • Physical activities: Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including bending, standing, and kneeling
  • Reliability: Demonstrated reliability with the ability to communicate schedule changes in a timely and professional manner
  • Work style: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision

  • Can work 2 consecutive semesters

Essential Duties

  • Maintain accurate inventory records while ensuring supplies are organized, stocked, and readily available to support operational needs.
  • Assist with inventory management activities, including tracking inventory levels, stocking supplies, conducting cycle counts, updating barcode records, and supporting inventory audits.
  • Accurately read, enter, maintain, and update data within inventory and business management software systems.
  • Pick up supplies from local vendors and transport deliveries to three campus locations using a university vehicle.
  • Provide general administrative and office support as needed, including filing, organizing records, and assisting with special projects.
  • Perform assigned tasks independently and efficiently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
