Race Timing Solutions (RTS) is a leading provider of event logistics, race timing, and fulfilment services. We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and proactive Race Packs Production Manager to lead our printing, packing, and stock management operations.
Job Summary
Position Title: Race Packs Production Manager
Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum
Start Date: 1st January 2027 (option to start earlier if suitable)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (40 hours per week)
Overtime: Expected during seasonal peak event periods
Location: Unit 14, Protea Way, Letchworth, SG6 1JT - No remote work; only in-office
Role Overview
As the Race Packs Production Manager, you will oversee the core production pipeline, ensuring all participant race packs are printed, assembled, and dispatched accurately and on schedule. You will lead a dynamic production team under tight deadlines, maintaining high quality standards while driving process improvements to support company growth. This role is a senior-level role within the company, reporting directly to the Head of Operations; as a result, this individual will be expected to lead by example for their department and the wider company.
This management role is expected to be hands-on and actively work with the department tasks to set an example for the department and team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management
- Lead and support the core printing and packing operations for all event race packs.
- Ensure all daily orders and event fulfilment tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Troubleshoot software and hardware issues related to production equipment and printing systems.
- Continually evaluate and optimise production workflows to enhance efficiency and scale operations.

Stock, Logistics & Facility Care
- Receive and inspect incoming deliveries, verifying contents against purchase orders.
- Maintain complete inventory control, conduct regular stock takes, and proactively place stock replenishment orders.
- Keep the warehouse and production area clean, safe, organised, and tidy at all times.
Team Leadership & Administration
- Supervise, motivate, and direct production staff in fast-paced, high-pressure deadline environments.
- Manage administrative duties including checking and processing staff hours and invoices.
- Handle stock supplier invoicing and ensure accurate operational expenditure records.
Candidate Requirements
- Leadership & Resilience: Proven experience managing small teams with the ability to maintain composure and clarity under deadline pressure.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organisational skills with a rigorous commitment to quality control and precision.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong general IT skills with a hands-on ability to troubleshoot software and print machinery issues quickly.
- Administrative Competence: Experience in inventory management, purchasing, and basic administrative/invoicing processing.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible overtime hours during busy event seasons to meet critical production deadlines.

Recruitment Process
Step 1: Informal 15 - 30-minute interview to demonstrate why you would be a good fit for the role. This is held remotely via Google Meet.
Step 2: Formal 45-minute session, requiring a 30-minute presentation by the candidate to demonstrate: “What is your strategy for the role & department success from day 1 to 6 months?” This presentation must have clear achievement goals and measurable KPIs. The intention is to acknowledge how much you understand of the role expectations and how you would overcome the challenges the role may face.
This will be followed by a 15-minute review and analysis of the presentation.
Offer / Next Steps: If successful in stage 2, you will be provided the opportunity to meet the team and be offered the role.
