Role: Radar Technical Lead (WTW Radar)

Duration: 3 months
Rate: Negotiable
Location: Remote - Travel to the office required once a month

We are seeking an experienced Radar Technical Lead to play a pivotal role in a major pricing transformation programme. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a highly capable Radar specialist to help shape, design and build a new pricing architecture and WTW Radar pricing solution within a complex insurance environment.

Working as part of a high-profile transformation programme, you will provide deep technical expertise throughout the core design and build phase, accelerating delivery whilst ensuring the resulting solution is robust, scalable, maintainable and fit for future ownership by the internal pricing team.

The Opportunity

The programme is redesigning and simplifying a complex pricing architecture, including the construction of a new WTW Radar pricing model and service.

As the Radar Technical Lead, you will take ownership of the most complex technical elements of the build, influence architecture decisions, provide technical assurance across the wider team and ensure best practice is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex pricing challenges, mentoring experienced analysts and driving technical excellence within a transformation environment.

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across the Radar build programme.
  • Lead the development of critical and complex Radar components and pricing logic.
  • Translate business requirements and logical designs into robust, scalable Radar solutions.
  • Shape and contribute to the Radar High Level Design, including:
    • Model architecture
    • Component design
    • Calculation flows
    • Dependencies
    • Reusable development patterns
  • Challenge and enhance technical approaches to improve performance, maintainability and resilience.

Build & Development Assurance

  • Ensure Radar implementations remain aligned with agreed business requirements and design principles.
  • Establish and promote best practice development standards, naming conventions and documentation approaches.
  • Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance of components developed by other analysts.
  • Identify defects, inconsistencies and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Troubleshoot complex development issues and rapidly resolve technical blockers.

About You

We are looking for a proven Radar expert with the credibility and experience to lead a complex pricing model build within a sophisticated insurance environment.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience with WTW Radar.
  • Proven track record building, redesigning or delivering complex pricing models and pricing services.
  • Deep understanding of Radar architecture, model design and technical implementation.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and debugging capability.
  • Experience translating pricing and business requirements into maintainable technical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to challenge technical approaches and influence design decisions.
  • Insurance pricing experience within a complex personal or commercial lines environment.
