What is TTR?
Teachers Talk Radio is an independent, teacher-led radio station dedicated to giving teachers a voice. We broadcast live shows, podcasts, and discussions covering current events in education, pedagogy, wellbeing, and professional development. Our mission is to create an open, engaging platform where teachers, school leaders, and education enthusiasts across the UK and beyond can share ideas, debate key issues, and support one another.
Role Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic volunteer Radio Hosts to join our remote team. In this role, you will plan, produce, and host engaging live or recorded radio shows focused on topics within the education sector. Whether you want to interview expert guests, host live panel discussions, or talk about day-to-day teaching experiences, this role offers full creative freedom to build your broadcast presence while connecting with a passionate audience of educators. We are specifically seeking current teachers and school leaders.

Key Responsibilities
- Show Production: Plan and present live audio shows on educational topics of your choice.
- Guest Coordination: Reach out to, schedule, and interview guests - specifically teachers and school leaders.
- Listener Engagement: Interact with listeners through social media and chat during broadcasts.
- Collaboration: Work alongside TTR leadership to ensure smooth broadcast scheduling and audio quality.
- Promote your show: Get your show out there into the world and build your own audience.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current or strong interest in education.
- Strong verbal communication, listening, and conversational skills.
- Basic familiarity with simple audio equipment/software (or eagerness to learn).
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet space for remote recording.
- Commitment to hosting regularly scheduled shows (e.g., weekly, bi-weekly or monthly) - consistency is key.
