Company Description
Egis is a leading global consulting, construction engineering, and operating firm. We work together with our clients, across every aspect of transport, energy, and the built environment to build a more balanced, sustainable, and resilient world. The Egis Group has more than 50 years of experience and a team of 23,500 employees in over 70 countries around the world. Joining our Group means, above all, sharing our values as a people-first company, strongly committed to sustainability and innovation.
In the UK and Ireland, we are proud to be delivering some of the most iconic projects which help connect people, protect our environment, and meet emission reduction targets. From highways, rail, and operations and maintenance, to energy, water, nuclear, and smart infrastructure, clients choose us to help them solve their most complex challenges - delivering climate-responsible growth that meets the needs of communities, industry, and the planet.
This is an exciting time for Egis as we have an opportunity for a RWM&D Programme Director accountable for the delivery, financial performance, and growth of Egis' Radioactive Waste Management & Decommissioning programme portfolio across Nuclear UK. The role ensures strong client relationships, commercial rigour, and consistent project delivery quality, and acts as the primary interface between delivery teams, the Market Director, and the Head of RWM&D Capability.
The role works closely with the Head of RWM&D Capability to translate pipeline forecasts into resourcing and capability plans, and with the Market Director to support pursuit and business development activity.
Job Description
The Programme Director leads the delivery of RWM&D projects and programmes, ensuring they are executed on time, within budget, and to the required quality. The role has direct accountability for financial performance and client satisfaction across the portfolio, and may double-hat as Project Director/Manager on specific commissions.
The role is the primary delivery interface within the Nuclear UK leadership team: it shares pipeline and demand forecasts with the Head of Capability to enable resource planning, and engages with the Market Director to contribute delivery insight to pursuit activity. The Programme Director acts as project sponsor where defined at project kick-off, and represents Egis with clients and external stakeholders. (A full Job Description is available on request)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
