Band 3 Full time (37.5 hours) Radiology Assistant Coordinator

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 3 Full time (37.5 hours) Radiology Assistant Coordinator within the Imaging department. This post is fixed hours and days (Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm).

Responsibilities

  • Multi-Disciplinary Team Support:
    • Be part of the multi-disciplinary team providing high standards of patient care to inpatients and outpatients within the Trust.
  • Booking and Coordination:
    • Assist with booking inpatients ultrasound lists ensuring prompt and effective service delivery.
    • Support radiology assistants band 2 throughout the department with their rosters and ensure safe skill mix within the clinical areas for Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
  • Liaison and Communication:
    • Liaise with Sonographers, Radiographers, Radiologists, and ward areas to ensure inpatients ultrasounds are booked according to urgency in appropriate scan slots, optimizing ultrasound scan capacity.
    • Book outpatient appointments in accordance with booking templates (when required) to support the departmental booking team.
    • Communicate effectively with patients regarding any necessary preparation prior to their appointment.
  • Roster Management:
    • Support the radiology assistant team band 2's and undertake daily management of their roster.
    • Compile the radiology assistant roster ensuring timely collation as per Trust standards, taking into account skill mix in each clinical area.
  • Annual Leave and Training:
    • Assist the lead nurse with radiology assistants' annual leave requests.
    • Undertake the assignment of bank duties on the Optima system in line with Trust practices.
    • Assist in the induction process for new radiology assistants and arrange their training within all clinical areas in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.

About Us

We have a long and proud history of caring for generations of local people and can trace our roots all the way back to 1814 with the first hospital in Bolton – the Bolton Dispensary in the town centre.

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2008 and, in 2011, we became an integrated provider with community health services joining the trust. Covering a catchment area that also incorporates parts of Bury, Wigan, and Salford, we deliver hospital and community-based services from the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth and from 20 health centers across Bolton, to a catchment population of 310,000+ people.
