Band 3 Full time (37.5 hours) Radiology Assistant Coordinator
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 3 Full time (37.5 hours) Radiology Assistant Coordinator within the Imaging department. This post is fixed hours and days (Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm).
Responsibilities
- Multi-Disciplinary Team Support:
- Be part of the multi-disciplinary team providing high standards of patient care to inpatients and outpatients within the Trust.
- Booking and Coordination:
- Assist with booking inpatients ultrasound lists ensuring prompt and effective service delivery.
- Support radiology assistants band 2 throughout the department with their rosters and ensure safe skill mix within the clinical areas for Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
- Liaison and Communication:
- Liaise with Sonographers, Radiographers, Radiologists, and ward areas to ensure inpatients ultrasounds are booked according to urgency in appropriate scan slots, optimizing ultrasound scan capacity.
- Book outpatient appointments in accordance with booking templates (when required) to support the departmental booking team.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding any necessary preparation prior to their appointment.
- Roster Management:
- Support the radiology assistant team band 2's and undertake daily management of their roster.
- Compile the radiology assistant roster ensuring timely collation as per Trust standards, taking into account skill mix in each clinical area.
- Annual Leave and Training:
- Assist the lead nurse with radiology assistants' annual leave requests.
- Undertake the assignment of bank duties on the Optima system in line with Trust practices.
- Assist in the induction process for new radiology assistants and arrange their training within all clinical areas in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
