• To maintain privacy and dignity of all patients in the department.
• To ensure patient care needs are recognised and addressed while in Radiology department, e.g.: reassurance, toilet requirements.
• To assist patients with undressing and preparation for Radiological examinations.
• To act as a chaperone for patients as required.
• To clean radiological equipment as per departmental procedures.
• To assist patients and staff with the specific tests and examinations carried out in the Radiology department.

Essential criteria

• GCSE English and Maths pass or equivalent.

Desirable criteria

• Relevant healthcare qualifications, e.g. nursing, NVQ.

Experience

Desirable criteria

• Previous experience in a similar post or dealing with the public.
• Experience of working in the NHS.

Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Knowledge of Health and Safety issues.
• Friendly, caring, and approachable manner to patients and staff.
• IT literate and ability to navigate several interlinked digital and IT systems.
• Must communicate effectively at all levels.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Desirable criteria

• Knowledge of X-rays, e.g. A level Physics, Biology, or equivalent.
