The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.
Job Overview
This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months due to maternity leave.

The Radiology Directorate in ABUHB is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Band 3 HCSW.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in an innovative and expanding Health Board to work closely with and assist professional staff in a range of duties to ensure the smooth running of Radiology Services across ABUHB.
This role is currently under review within the Health Board and will result in the issuing of a revised band 3 job description. If appointed, your manager will ensure you are kept informed and support you through any changes, including discussing relevant training requirements.
Currently we are unable to provide certificates of sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the Home Office’s criteria. Anyone requiring a certificate of sponsorship is therefore unable to be shortlisted and interviewed.
Main duties of the job
In this position you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a quality radiology service for our patients . This will involve providing clinical support to Doctors and Radiographers and Nurses throughout the department, assisting with manual handling tasks in a manner which is safe for both patients and staff.
- Answering the telephone for general queries and directing calls appropriately.
- Assisting with the preparation of examination rooms. Ensure rooms are clean and tidy; damp dusting on a daily basis.
- To undertake clinical duties such as cleaning and preparing areas before and after clinical procedures – observing aseptic techniques where required. Maintaining appropriate levels of stationary, laundry, gloves, gowns, cleaning equipment.
- To adhere to and promote the Trust’s Infection Prevention and Control policies and procedures and make every effort to maintain high standards of infection control at all times thereby reducing the risk of Healthcare Associated infections.
