Job Title: Radiopharmacy Team Manager
Contract Type: Permanent
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Pharmacy Technician Team Manager and provide operational, professional and technical leadership for the Gallium service, ensuring the provision of a safe, effective, efficient and patient-focused pharmacy service.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of the Gallium service, ensuring that all activities relating to the receipt, storage, preparation, handling, dispensing and supply are undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, professional standards, Trust policies and departmental procedures.
Working closely with the head of radiopharmacy, nuclear medicine staff, medical physics, suppliers and other internal and external stakeholders, the post holder will ensure that the service operates effectively, safely and efficiently and delivers high-quality patient care.
The post holder will provide leadership to the pharmacy technician team, supporting workforce development, competency assessment, performance management and continuous professional development. They will contribute to service planning, quality improvement, risk management and the development of the Gallium service in line with Trust priorities and strategic objectives.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
In this role, your key responsibilities will include identifying, promoting, and implementing Gallium service developments, focussing on improving service delivery and patient care and in line with organisational priorities and vision.
- Responsible for the ongoing review and development of the Gallium service including interpreting requirements for changes to provision and the resolution of issues relating to staffing.
- Providing and sharing specialist technical information to healthcare professionals both within and externally to the Trust to ensure continuity of care.
- Communicating with other health care professionals, suppliers, service users, and patients regarding difficulties around service delivery and if appropriate negotiating and offering alternative solutions to ensure appropriate patient care is always maintained.

Person specification
Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Management qualification equivalent to at least intermediate management level
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical science and equivalent level of in-depth specialist organisational and procedural, knowledge of pharmacy services
- Can demonstrate understanding of current professional regulations and issues
- Extensive experience of pharmacy IT systems
- Experience of managing staff and/or services
- Other relevant pharmacy or research qualifications e.g., ACPT, PIPC, Medicines Management as essential
Desirable criteria
- Leadership qualification
- Budget & Financial management experience
- Experience of designing and implementing an audit
- Experience of writing for publication
