Band 3 Radiotherapy Bookings Coordinator

We are recruiting a Band 3 Radiotherapy Bookings Coordinator, here at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT).

Radiotherapy Bookings Coordinators are integral members of the radiotherapy team, and support the multidisciplinary efforts needed to deliver effective radiotherapy treatment.

This is a demanding role that combines clerical, admin and patient support duties, with an essential requirement of proficient IT and computer literacy skills.

We are looking for a motivated, caring and resilient individual, preferably with experience in a health & social care setting, with a passion for delivering excellent patient care.

The post holder will be required to work as part of a team as well as being able to use initiative and prioritise their own work.

Key Responsibilities

  • To coordinate the patient pathway between a number of departments/specialties and external Trusts to avoid cancer wait breaches.
  • To act as the link between the patients, oncology wards, consultants, planning department, chemotherapy outpatients, treatment machines and medical records in coordinating the treatment pathway for each patient referred for radiotherapy.
  • To prioritize and allocate appropriate appointment slots for each stage of the treatment process, liaising with relevant staff as necessary.
  • To proficiently and efficiently utilise a variety of electronic systems, with competent IT skills and knowledge.
  • To maintain awareness of service delivery developments and contribute to the implementation of change within the service, and participate and identify areas requiring improvement.
