Job Title: Therapeutic Radiographer
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Therapeutic Radiographer to lead and develop our commissioned Radiotherapy Late Effects and Review service at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to provide expert clinical and operational leadership, supporting patients who are experiencing the long-term effects of radiotherapy while shaping an evidence-based, safe and responsive service for the future.
About the Role
Based within the Radiotherapy Department at Torbay Hospital, the post holder will work closely with Clinical Oncologists, Therapeutic Radiographers, Review Radiographers, AHP’s, primary care, community services, and wider multidisciplinary colleagues to improve referral pathways, deliver specialist patient review, and embed late effects care as a standard part of radiotherapy provision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the clinical and operational delivery of the Radiotherapy Late Effects and Review service, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
- Assess, review, and support patients experiencing acute and late radiotherapy side effects, developing personalised treatment plans and escalating clinical concerns where required.
- Develop referral pathways across acute, primary, and community care to improve access to specialist late effects support.
- Provide expert advice, education, and training to therapeutic radiographers, multidisciplinary teams, and wider health professionals.
- Lead service improvement, audit, research, and quality initiatives, including collection of service metrics to support commissioned provision.
- Contribute to clinical governance, risk management, policy development, and compliance with professional, Trust, IR(ME)R, and ISO9001 quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with local, regional, and national partners to share best practice and influence the development of late effects radiotherapy care.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
