The Role
The Radiotherapy Support Worker in the department plays a vital role in supporting the Therapy Radiographer team to provide care to the patients attending for radiotherapy.
As part of the team you will contribute to the smooth and effective running of the department and work with the rest of the team to provide the best possible experience for those patients attending for Radiotherapy.
Responsibilities
Responsible for providing a range of clinical duties under the guidance and supervision of the team leader, supporting the Therapy Radiography team and the activities of the Rosemere Radiotherapy Department including:
- Assisting patients with personal hygiene, toileting, measuring & monitoring patient output, moving and handling, use of mobility appliances, ensuring patient safety
- Taking specimens including bloods, blood sugars
- Taking and recording physical measurements
- Observing patients for changes in condition
- Carrying out simple dressings
- Insertion and removal of venflons

About the Department
The Radiotherapy Department at the Rosemere Cancer Centre is a vital service that provides treatment for patients across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Being part of this team you will be an important member in assisting the team in providing safe and accurate care in a fast-paced, busy outpatient department.
You will also be vital in providing the best patient experience whilst the patients are undergoing radiotherapy.
