An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated nurse to join our Rapid Diagnostic Centre (RDC) team as a Band 7 Specialist Nurse.

The Rapid Diagnostic Centre provides a streamlined diagnostic pathway for patients presenting with vague, non-specific symptoms that may indicate cancer or other serious conditions. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating patient pathways, delivering expert clinical assessment, supporting timely diagnosis, and ensuring an outstanding patient experience throughout their diagnostic journey.

This is an excellent opportunity for an autonomous and compassionate practitioner who is passionate about early diagnosis, service improvement, and person-centred care.

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Act as a specialist practitioner within the RDC service.
  • Undertake advanced holistic assessments of patients referred to the RDC pathway.
  • Coordinate and manage complex patient journeys from referral through to diagnosis and onward management.
  • Ensure patients receive timely investigations and results in line with national cancer targets and Trust standards.
  • Provide expert information, advice, and psychological support to patients and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with consultants, primary care colleagues, cancer teams, diagnostic services, and allied health professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to clinical decision-making.
  • Support service development, audit, quality improvement, and performance monitoring.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and education to junior staff and students.
  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective care.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
