Location: Open to London/Paris/Dubai

The opportunity A leading global quantitative investment manager is seeking an accomplished Rates Options Portfolio Manager to join a major expansion of its global macro and fixed-income capabilities. The successful candidate will join a highly regarded, quantitatively driven volatility platform with substantial institutional infrastructure, deep research resources and a strong record of building proprietary trading capabilities. This is an opportunity to establish and scale a differentiated Rates Options strategy within a collaborative global platform.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage a scalable Rates Options investment strategy with clear and repeatable sources of alpha.
  • Own portfolio construction, risk allocation, hedging and day-to-day trading decisions across the relevant rates volatility universe.
  • Generate original relative-value, volatility and convexity trade ideas across developed rates markets.
  • Work closely with researchers, technologists, execution specialists and senior investment leadership.
  • Build robust research, monitoring and risk-management processes capable of supporting institutional capital.

Candidate profile

  • A demonstrable record of success in Rates Options portfolio management or senior risk-taking.
  • Track record of at least $20m pnl per year.
  • Deep expertise in interest-rate volatility, options pricing, volatility surfaces, relative value and portfolio hedging.
  • Strong understanding of macroeconomic regimes, central-bank policy and the drivers of global rates markets.
  • Evidence of disciplined risk management, particularly through difficult or rapidly changing rates environments.
  • Ability to explain the strategy's edge, capacity, drawdown profile, liquidity requirements and expected performance characteristics.
  • Strong quantitative instincts and the ability to work effectively with researchers and developers.
  • High standards of judgement, integrity and collaboration.

Preferred experience

  • Experience building or materially developing a Rates Options business, strategy or trading platform.
  • A portable strategy or clearly evidenced ability to rebuild the investment process on a new platform.
  • Experience across multiple developed rates markets and instruments.
  • A background at a leading hedge fund, proprietary trading firm or bank rates-options franchise.
