Technical - Taiko Acton- BONSAI

Contract: Full Time

Salary: £35,000

Contracted Hours: 40

Established in 1997 as the first manufacturer of sushi for the UK supermarket industry, Taiko has evolved into the most innovative manufacturer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals and Snacking products in the UK, supplying Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury’s to name a few. Over the past 25 years Taiko has launched more first to market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-focused Raw Material Technologist with a good understanding of food safety, GMP and technical standards. You’ll be confident working with suppliers, specifications and technical documentation, with strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the business. A good understanding of HACCP, CCPs, BRCGS and food safety requirements is essential, along with a proactive approach to maintaining high standards. You’ll need to be organised, flexible and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities while supporting a strong food safety culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the supplier database, ensuring suppliers meet BRCGS standards, customer requirements and relevant technical approval criteria.
  • Review, approve and maintain raw material specifications, ensuring all information is accurate, compliant and up to date.
  • Maintain the raw materials log, supplier assurance records and ETI Base Code information.
  • Raise, issue and coordinate actions relating to Supplier Non-Conformances (SNCs), ensuring corrective actions are followed through effectively.
  • Manage supplier review and monitoring processes, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support compliance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, GMP, HACCP, CCP and BRCGS requirements, ensuring standards are implemented consistently.
  • Maintain and promote a strong food safety culture, working closely with colleagues and departments to address issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers and management, reporting daily issues and providing support across the Technical Department as required.
