Join us as a Raw Materials Controller at our Sandtoft Site in Doncaster

Wienerberger Ltd manufactures and provides wall, roof and landscaping products for the construction sector. We offer innovative and sustainable solutions across the whole building envelope for new build, renovation projects and across the building industry.

About The Role

As a Raw Materials Controller you will be responsible for managing the Site Services Team at our Sandtoft site, helping to maintain high site standards and ensuring raw materials and consumable stocks are available to support production. You will oversee COSHH responsibilities within the Site Services remit, work closely with operational and procurement teams, and lead improvement activities that support safety, quality, cost, and environmental performance.

Duties Also Include

  • Carrying out cycle counts for raw materials, consumables, and consolidated stock in line with company policy
  • Maintaining accurate stock information and documentation for reporting and audit purposes
  • Ordering raw materials and consumables while considering production schedules, lead times, and safety stock levels
  • Arranging and managing goods receipts and internal and external plant-to-plant transfers through SAP
  • Managing local stock holdings of production consumables and ensuring supplies remain available to support operations
  • Monitoring raw material usage and identifying opportunities to improve yield and reduce waste
  • Working closely with procurement to address supply chain issues and escalate concerns when required
  • Ensuring waste, empty containers, and packaging materials are disposed of correctly and cost effectively
  • Supporting a culture of continuous improvement across the site
  • Providing cover for quality assurance activities when required

This role plays an important part in ensuring our manufacturing operations run efficiently, safely, and sustainably. Your work will help maintain product quality, support production performance, and contribute to continuous improvement across the site.

There will be opportunities to develop your skills, contribute to improvement projects, and collaborate with colleagues across different functions within the business.

This site produces Roof tiles, supporting our manufacturing of high-quality building materials across the UK.

This position is based at Sandtoft site, which is near Belton and easily commutable from Scunthorpe, Thorne, Gainsborough and Doncaster.

Due to the site location, it is accessible by personal vehicles only. Free parking is available.

Hours of work

7:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Essential

About you

  • Good experience working in a manufacturing or high-volume production environment
  • Strong commitment to safe working practices and health and safety standards
  • Leadership experience within an operational environment
  • Experience of stock control, stock counting, and raw material ordering processes
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to lead a team and support continuous improvement activities
  • Flexible approach and ability to adapt to changing priorities

Desirable

  • Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system
  • Knowledge of COSHH systems and processes
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies
  • Experience supporting quality assurance activities within a manufacturing environment
