Job Description

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a Senior Associate for the South West Wealth Management team who service clients across Cornwall and Devon. As a Senior Associate, you will provide support to Wealth Managers as you develop your expertise and confidence in client-facing wealth management. This is an ideal opportunity to deepen your existing knowledge of financial planning solutions, whilst building your career into advice.

This is a permanent, full-time role and requires 4 days in the office at our Exeter, Plymouth, or Truro location.

What will you do?

  • Assist with the management of client bases under the guidance of Senior Wealth Managers, supporting relationship maintenance and growth
  • Undertake paraplanning and technical support tasks, including preparation of reports and documentation to support client advice processes
  • Participate in client meetings in a support capacity, building confidence through collaboration with senior colleagues
  • Contribute to identifying new business opportunities and ensuring clients are referred to the appropriate team within RBC for specialist solutions
  • Work collaboratively across One RBC, engaging with functional colleagues and business units to enhance client service delivery
  • Maintain adherence to all regulatory requirements, FCA Conduct Rules, and RBC policies whilst ensuring good client outcomes

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Demonstrable experience within a prior Wealth Manager support role
  • Attained CISI Level 4 (with financial planning paper), or CII Level 4 and working towards further qualifications e.g. level 6/7
  • Robust knowledge of wealth management principles and the client advice process
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to learn from experience and adapt to new situations, with a proactive approach to professional development
