The Role
As Analyst in the Seqirus FP&A group, reporting to the Senior Manager, FP&A - Commercial and R&D, you will consolidate budgets and forecasts across that unified organisation. You will also own the master data and planning system that the numbers depend on, and turn results into analysis that Finance Business Partners and R&D leaders can act on. The role combines rigorous consolidation work with a real say in how R&D's performance is reported and understood.
Hybrid (onsite 3 days a week) in Maidenhead or Liverpool
Why it matters
Research and development is where long-term commitments get made. Programmes run for years, late-stage trials are expensive, and decisions to fund, accelerate or stop a programme depend on financial information that is accurate, timely and comparable across the organisation.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- You will be the central point for R&D Finance's month-end results, forecasts, budgets and strategic plan submissions to Group Finance and other internal customers. You will work closely with the Global R&D Finance Business Partners and the wider FP&A Community of Practice across CSL.
- Consolidating budgets and forecasts across the R&D organisation, supporting planning presentations and resolving issues as they arise
- Analysing R&D expenses by function, account, FTE and major expenditure during budget and forecast cycles, and working with Business Partners to explain the drivers behind spend and variances
- Acting as global owner of the R&D financial planning system, including cost centre hierarchies, active GL accounts, user security, system issues and user support
- Reporting actual performance against budget and forecast, and supporting reporting throughout each planning cycle
- Identifying new and better reports with the Business Partners, retiring obsolete ones, and contributing to Seqirus FP&A improvement initiatives
- Handling ad hoc analyses and data requests, and providing back-up to the Business Partner team on planning requirements

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
