Position Summary

As part of the technical team within the Lubricant Performance Additives division, you will undertake lab scale development and testing work across both the current product range and the innovation pipeline whilst also assisting with the day-to-day running of the lab and coordinating customer sample requests.

Responsible to

CTS Specialist

Main Objectives and Responsibilities

Working within the technical department, you would be responsible for the preparation and testing of development samples along with carrying out performance evaluation work on these products. As part of a team, you would also carry out technical service requests on behalf of both internal and external customers as well as help address any customer queries that are directed to technical department. Lab related purchasing of consumables, safety items and reagents would be a core duty alongside the preparation and dispatch of samples to customers/other facilities.

Qualifications

  • A levels in Maths and Chemistry as a minimum with the ideal candidate having a Degree in Chemistry or other relevant subject and have a working knowledge of the lubricant industry.
  • Substantial experience working in a laboratory environment.

Skills and Competencies

  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Accurate data entry skills and keen attention to detail;
  • The ability to problem solve using a logical, data-driven approach;
  • The ability to work independently in a safe and structured manner within a laboratory environment;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ideally Teams) to an intermediate level;
  • Knowledge of industrial lubricants would be advantageous.
