R&D Engineer, Can & End Forming (m/f/d)
We are looking for a R&D Engineer, Can & End Forming (m/f/d) for our Ardagh Metal Packaging Europe Business, in one of our Ardagh Metal Plant locations in Europe.
Role Description
The R&D Engineer Can & End Forming is responsible to support & implement the assigned roadmap of projects, services, process improvements or qualifications for world-class technical and scientific knowledge regarding beverage Can and Ends forming and design and the application of this knowledge in new products and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing multiple R&D projects and feasibility studies including budget, schedule and resources
- Providing fundamental process expertise for metal forming technologies
- Developing metal forming tooling and processes for existing and new products
- Conducting tooling or materials trials including evaluation & analysis
- Applying project management tools and providing documentation for global collaboration
- Delivering innovation in product development and defining IP
- Performing analysis of product performance and packaging integrity
- Conducting detailed process analysis

Requirements
- Graduated Mechanical Engineer or similar education or work-related experience
- Canmaking and/or Endmaking experience, preferably 2 piece, aluminium
- Knowledge of high speed & high volume sheet metal forming manufacturing processes - CAD skills 2D/3D
- Experience in manufacturing cost analysis
- Materials knowledge in aluminium alloys
- Ability to work independently guided by strategic directives
- Analytical mindset providing fundamental support during troubleshooting
- Experience in working with intercultural & multinational teams
- Fluency in English is a must, other European languages are beneficial
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
