Laboratory Administrator - R&D Flavours

Are you super organised, have a great eye for detail and fancy a career that’s a little more exciting than your average admin role?

Perhaps you’re a Science Grad looking for your first opportunity, an experienced Administrator who loves getting into the detail, or you’ve worked in a laboratory, technical or regulated environment and are ready for your next adventure...

Riot Labs Ltd, one of the UK’s leading E-liquid manufacturers, has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Administrator to join our growing R&D Flavours team.

We’re a company best known for our bold, loud, award-winning brands and flavours, our ability to throw a spectacular event and, most importantly, for having some of the very best and most talented people in our team. We work hard, move fast and like to have plenty of fun along the way. From Friday drinks, Summer & Christmas parties and huge promotional events, to unusual team-building activities, random team lunches and trips to the local pub – there’s rarely a dull moment in the world of Riot Squad.

As our R&D team continues to grow, we’re looking for a Laboratory Administrator who can help keep the science, systems and paperwork running smoothly.

This isn’t your typical desk-based admin role. You’ll work right at the heart of our Flavours team, combining administration, regulatory documentation and data management with hands-on laboratory and quality control support.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be responsible for helping our R&D team keep formulation and regulatory information accurate, organised and up to date.

This will include creating and updating flavour formulations within our internal systems and regulatory platforms, maintaining accurate records and version control, and helping produce important technical documentation including MSDS, CLP summaries, CAS information and COSHH assessments.

You’ll maintain structured digital and physical records for formulations, testing and compliance, as well as supporting the team with documentation required for audits and regulatory reviews.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You’ll also work closely with our R&D, Quality and Regulatory teams, making sure information is accurate, traceable and where it needs to be.

But we did say this wasn't your average admin job...

Getting hands-on in the Lab

You’ll also get involved in the practical side of our R&D operation, supporting our formulation team with the preparation of samples and product trials.

This can include accurately weighing and blending ingredients, preparing laboratory equipment, labelling samples and making sure every trial has the correct batch records and documentation.

You’ll also assist with routine Quality Control testing, which may include:

  • Density measurements
  • Flashpoint testing
  • Titration
  • Emissions testing
  • Recording and reporting QC results

You’ll help keep the laboratory running smoothly too, carrying out routine balance checks, monitoring calibration and equipment maintenance, preparing consumables and reagents, and helping make sure everything the team needs is stocked and ready to go.

What are we looking for?

First and foremost, attention to detail is essential.

You’ll be working with chemical names, formulations, technical documents and numerical data, so we need somebody who enjoys getting the details right and takes pride in keeping things organised.

You’ll be proactive, highly organised and comfortable managing different priorities in a busy environment.

You should also:

  • Be confident using Excel/Google Sheets and working with data
  • Be comfortable learning new software and cloud-based systems
  • Have strong administration and record-keeping skills
  • Be comfortable carrying out basic laboratory and QC activities
  • Be able to closely follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Be confident handling technical information and chemical data
  • Have good communication and time-management skills
  • Be willing to learn – there’s plenty of opportunity to develop your technical and regulatory knowledge here!

A background in Chemistry, Biology or another scientific/technical discipline would be advantageous, but we're also interested in people with transferable experience and the right attitude.

Experience within a regulated industry such as vaping, FMCG, flavours, fragrance or chemicals would also be beneficial.

Knowledge of COSHH, TPD, MSDS/SDS documentation, CLP or chemical compliance would be a definite advantage – but you don't necessarily need to arrive knowing everything. We're looking for someone who can learn, develop and grow alongside the team.

Why Riot Labs?

Because we don't believe work has to be boring. You’ll be joining an established, growing business where you can develop experience across R&D, laboratory operations, quality and regulatory compliance, giving you plenty of opportunity to expand your knowledge and progress your career.

And, of course, when we work hard, we like to celebrate hard too!

If you’re organised, detail-obsessed, interested in science and looking for a role that mixes admin with getting hands-on in the lab, we’d love to hear from you. Come and see what life is like on the R&D side of Riot Squad!
