Your new company

Are you an experienced R&D Tax or Patent Box specialist looking for a genuine leadership opportunity within one of the market's most respected innovation incentives teams? A leading professional services firm is seeking a Director to join its Global Investment & Innovation Incentives practice in Manchester. This highly successful team works with innovative businesses across a broad range of sectors, helping them maximize the value of their R&D investments while shaping the future of innovation incentives in the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious senior manager, director, or experienced specialist looking to take ownership of client relationships, drive business development initiatives, and play a key role in the continued growth of a nationally recognized practice.

Your new role

As a Director, you will work closely with partners and senior stakeholders to deliver strategic R&D Tax Relief and Patent Box advice to a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from fast-growth businesses to large multinational organizations. The role also offers exposure to wider tax, policy, and controversy matters, including engagement with HMRC and HM Treasury on issues affecting innovation incentives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
