Join Our Team as an R&D Technician – Animal Focused

Are you passionate about advancing technology that makes a real difference in animal wellbeing? We are seeking a dedicated R&D Technician to play a vital role in supporting groundbreaking projects in the agritech space. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions that help farmers understand and improve animal health, using cutting-edge sensor and monitoring technology.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of a dynamic research & development environment, collaborating with a talented team of engineers and product designers to develop, test, and refine pioneering products. Your hands-on expertise will ensure our laboratory, workshop, and stores operations run smoothly, enabling our team to deliver impactful solutions efficiently.

  • Proven hands-on experience with laboratory and workshop equipment maintenance, calibration, and safety protocols (COSHH, risk assessments)
  • Strong skills in assembling prototypes, including PCBs, sensors, and mechanical components
  • Ability to operate and maintain modelmaking, measurement, and mechanical testing equipment
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing consumables, assets, and testing schedules
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental health standards applicable to lab and workshop environments
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Nice To Have Skills

  • Experience in animal science or agritech product testing
  • Familiarity with electronic component testing and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of international regulations for laboratory safety and equipment
  • Experience working with external testing facilities and resource planning

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in laboratory science, mechanical engineering, electronics, or related field
  • Prior experience working in a R&D laboratory or workshop environment supporting product development projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage lab safety, equipment, and inventory efficiently

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Comfortable with hands-on assembly, equipment operation, and troubleshooting
