An opportunity has arisen for a Research & Development Test Engineer to join the Jaguar TCS Racing department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

About The Role

The Research & Development (R&D) Test Engineer plays a critical role within our Formula E motorsport team, responsible for forming, executing, and analysing testing programs to drive innovation and performance improvements. This position involves working closely with design, powertrain, and electrical teams to develop and validate new technologies, ensuring the team remains competitive in the evolving world of electric motorsport.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute structured test plans for powertrain, chassis, and other critical components.
  • Maintain our Real-Time Platforms and implement new features required to fulfil the test program
  • Utilize data acquisition systems and software to collect and interpret test results.
  • Identify performance trends, inefficiencies, and areas for development.
  • Present test results and recommendations to relevant parties
  • Maintain documentation regarding test procedures & processes to enable the department to run safely & efficiently

About You

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Motorsport, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in R&D, controls engineering, or test engineering, preferably in motorsport or high-performance automotive applications.
  • Strong understanding of electric powertrains or willingness to learn
  • Experience with data acquisition tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Vector, AVL, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Real-Time Platforms such as dSpace, Speedgoat or equivalent
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C++) for data analysis and automation is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to test development.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible attitude to working hours.
  • To follow and actively enforce the company’s health and Safety and HV policies.
