Red Bull Technology Undergraduate Placement
Red Bull Technology has an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate student to join our Research & Development Chassis Test team for a one-year industrial placement starting in Summer 2027.
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the heart of a championship-winning Formula 1 team, working alongside some of the sport's most talented Engineers and Technicians.
Based at our Milton Keynes Technology Campus, you will become part of the team responsible for testing and validating an extensive range of chassis components and assemblies, from individual parts through to complete race car. You will gain exposure to real engineering challenges, contribute to cutting-edge R&D projects, and see first-hand how innovative ideas are transformed into race-winning performance.
What You Will Be Doing
Throughout your placement, you will work closely with experienced engineers and develop valuable technical and practical skills, including:
- Developing your CAD competencies through structured training and practical applications.
- Producing detailed drawings for R&D test rigs, fixtures and assemblies, ready for manufacture.
- Supporting the build and preparation of test rigs for a wide range of chassis tests.
- Participating in the testing of components and assemblies, following the high standards and procedures expected within Formula 1.
- Assisting with the analysis and interpretation of test data and contributing to technical reports that influence engineering decisions.
- Taking an active role in the day-to-day running and continuous improvement of the R&D Chassis Test Department.
- Contributing to the presentation and organisation of one of Formula 1's most advanced testing environments.

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated students with a passion for engineering and motorsport that fulfil the requirements below:
- Studying towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
- Combining strong computer skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
- A curious problem solver with a willingness to learn and contribute.
- An effective communicator who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
- Able to demonstrate practical engineering experience or involvement in projects outside of your academic studies.
