About The Role

Location: Stirling Rd, London W3 8DJ

Salary: £13.00 - £14.40 per hour

Working hours: 42.50 hours per week including lunch

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 18:30 pm

Flexible attitude to work: Shift work and weekend work will be required.

This is a full-time permanent role working five days a week (to include weekends).

The ReActon shop sells a wide range of pre-owned items that would previously have gone into landfill and are now being taken out of the waste stream and put back to good use.

These Include:

  • Furniture
  • Bikes
  • Crockery
  • Tools
  • Garden Furniture and ornaments
  • CDs, DVDs and records
  • Sports equipment
  • Electrical appliances

We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our ReActon team working in our Hub!

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the smooth operation of the shop, and the ReActon Standard Operating procedures and Policies are adhered to
  • Assessing the stock that comes into the shop and its suitability for sale.
  • Requesting more stock and items for delivery partners to repair when needed
  • Pricing and displaying stock in the shop.
  • Serving customers and building relationships, including support and sales advice to ensure repeat custom.
  • Researching items to understand stock value.
  • Working with Hub Manager to deliver online selling.
  • Posting items online
  • Coordinating collections and delivery of items
  • Merchandising of stock and ensuring that we do not sell prohibited items.
  • Working with the wider team to create an understanding of what works well in the shop and what we are unable to sell.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of housekeeping and cleanliness are upheld within the shop.
  • Maintaining the security of the shop premises, stock and all shop monies
  • Completing and submitting all necessary paperwork to the Management team
  • Any other duties required to achieve the smooth and profitable running of the shop
  • Reporting to the Shop Supervisor.
  • Being responsible for the shop in the Supervisor’s absence
  • Provide support to Delivery Partners delivering training and skills onsite
  • Ensuring learners are made aware of H&S of the site
  • Ensuring learners are guided to the correct places onsite
  • Addressing any issues that arise through the training and education courses being offered onsite

Behaviours: If you are an enthusiastic, hardworking team player with a love for recycling and upcycling this could be the job for you.

Knowledge

  • Understanding the principles of supporting the overall financial performance of the re-use shops.
  • Knowledge of how to maintain appropriate levels of the right stock to meet customer demand.
  • Familiarity with health and safety and trading standards and other relevant legislation.
  • Awareness and understanding of equality and diversity.
  • Awareness of how to take responsible decisions to minimise negative effects on the environment in all work activities.
