DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Clearance
This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/dbs-code-of-practice). Casual Car Documentation
The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.

About The Role

This role involves delivering a short-term reablement service that supports individuals to regain independence and confidence in their own homes. The post holder will work closely with individuals to help them learn or relearn daily living skills, achieve personal goals and improve their overall health and wellbeing.
The role includes providing high-quality, person-centred support including personal care tasks, meal preparation and medication support while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and hygiene. The post holder will support individuals through a person centred reablement period, offering both practical assistance and emotional support.
The post holder will work collaboratively with customers, colleagues and external partners to assess needs and monitor progress as required. This includes accurate record keeping, clear communication and contributing to ongoing support planning.
The role also requires adherence to safeguarding procedures, CQC standards and council policies. A commitment to equality, diversity, and continuous professional development is essential.
The ideal candidate will be a team player who is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred services, always placing customers at the heart of their work. The candidate will demonstrate a positive and flexible approach to change, taking pride in their role and contributing to continuous service improvement.
The candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals, understand their needs, and respond appropriately. The candidate will be well organised, able to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and work both independently and collaboratively.
The candidate will also have good analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling them to interpret information, identify risks, and make appropriate decisions, including when to seek guidance. Strong administrative skills, including accurate record-keeping and a good level of literacy and numeracy are essential.
The successful candidate will either hold or be willing to work towards an NVQ Level 3 in health and social care, be willing to travel across the city and undertake an enhanced DBS check. They will also be flexible, able to work to a 3 week rota including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
