Who are we?

Henderson Group are proud to be Northern Ireland’s leading foodservice provider. Our group encompasses Henderson Wholesale, Henderson Retail, Henderson Foodservice and Henderson Group Property. We employ over 6,000 staff and have been placed 3rd in Ulster Business Top 100 Companies 2025.

A look into the role

Working as a Reach Truck Operator in the Henderson Wholesale Fresh Foods Warehouse means being part of a fast-paced, team-focused environment where accuracy and efficiency are key. You'll be responsible for handling chilled and fresh food products, ensuring they are stored safely for delivery to our network of SPAR, EUROSPAR, VIVO, and VIVO XTRA stores. Your role will involve a mix of tasks, including receiving goods in, replenishing pick locations, and organising stock within the warehouse using a Reach Truck in a temperature-controlled environment. You’ll play a vital part in maintaining the cold chain and supporting the smooth flow of goods across our operation. Every day brings variety and the chance to work alongside a supportive team, with opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to one of Northern Ireland’s top-performing wholesale operations.

Working as a Reach Truck Operative you will:

  • Carry out daily safety checks on the reach truck, complete the relevant documentation, and report any faults to a member of the Management Team.
  • Operate reach trucks safely and efficiently in a chilled warehouse environment, following all site safety protocols.
  • Carry out putaway moves using an RF scan gun and input terminal, in line with the FLT Process Handbook and warehouse management system (WMS) procedures.
  • Perform replenishment moves as required, ensuring accuracy and efficiency using the WMS and following established processes.
  • Support the goods-in process, including unloading stock and verifying delivery accuracy.
  • Remove damaged products from pick locations, record the details (product and quantity), and report to the Stock Control team.
  • Place any damaged stock encountered during reach truck operations into the designated damage area and notify the cleaner for removal.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working area by following a clean-as-you-go policy, disposing of shrink wrap, cardboard, and waste appropriately.
  • Assist in the preparation and support of internal and external audits.
  • Work closely with warehouse, stock control, and logistics teams to ensure smooth and accurate stock handling.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
