About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior React Developer / Senior Front End Developer to join an innovative application modernization project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design and develop a secure, accessible, and high-performance React and TypeScript front end for an established enterprise platform. The successful candidate will work remotely on a full-time contract basis for a duration of 3 to 6 months, with flexible working hours to accommodate different time zones and personal preferences. The primary focus will be on creating a modern browser-based user experience, integrating seamlessly with an existing HCL Domino back end, and preparing the platform for future scalability and enhancement.
This position involves close collaboration with technical architects, back-end developers, stakeholders, and the existing development team. The role also emphasizes knowledge sharing, documentation, and mentoring to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing support after project completion. The project's delivery is scheduled for April 2027, providing ample scope for impactful contributions and technical leadership.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in front-end development, with extensive experience in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS. A solid understanding of building secure enterprise web applications and integrating with REST APIs is essential. Experience working with cloud-hosted solutions and familiarity with authentication protocols such as Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect are also required. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively transfer knowledge within a team environment. Prior experience collaborating within established development teams and adhering to best software engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, and source control, is vital.

Desirable qualifications include experience integrating modern front-end applications with legacy or enterprise back-end platforms, particularly within HCL Domino/Notes environments. Knowledge of delivering solutions in public-sector or regulated environments, along with experience mentoring and documenting technical solutions, will be advantageous. Candidates who hold current security clearances such as SC or NPPV3, or are willing to undergo the required security clearance process, will be considered favorably.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop responsive, high-quality web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and modern front-end technologies to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Build and maintain secure integrations with existing back-end services utilizing REST APIs and modern integration patterns to facilitate reliable data exchange.
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using protocols such as Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect to safeguard application access.
- Collaborate closely with technical architects, back-end developers, stakeholders, and the existing technical team to deliver a user-centric, scalable, and performant solution.
- Focus on building applications that are optimized for performance, accessibility, and scalability, supporting approximately 500-1,000 users.
- Contribute to the technical design process, conduct code reviews, and participate in testing, CI/CD, and deployment activities within a cloud-hosted environment.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation outlining the solution architecture, development approach, and key decisions made during the project lifecycle.
- Provide practical knowledge sharing, mentoring, and structured handover to ensure the existing team can confidently maintain and further develop the application post-delivery.
