Role: React Full Stack Lead Developer

Location: Sheffield, United Kingdom

Work Model: Hybrid (2 Days/Week Onsite)

Contract Duration: 6–12 Months

Rate: £375 - £400 per day (Inside IR35)

Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days Preferred

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced React Full Stack Lead Developer to lead the design and development of modern, scalable web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Java, Spring Boot, and API Gateway, along with proven experience leading development teams in an Agile environment.

This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and user-centric applications while mentoring junior developers and driving engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and Java/Spring Boot.
  • Define and implement frontend architecture, ensuring performance, scalability, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Build reusable UI components and shared libraries to promote consistency across applications.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Enhance existing applications by resolving defects, improving performance, and implementing new features.
  • Ensure responsive and cross-browser compatibility across desktop and mobile platforms.
  • Champion accessibility standards, secure coding practices, and engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, UX/UI Designers, QA Engineers, and Backend Developers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Lead code reviews, implement testing strategies, and support CI/CD practices.
  • Mentor junior developers, provide technical guidance, and contribute to engineering standards and documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in React.js and TypeScript development.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design.
  • Experience with API Gateway and Microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES+), and responsive web design.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, code quality, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
