Company Description
Croydon ParkBox creates free mini-libraries with books and toys in parks across Croydon, making it easy for community members to read, play, and learn together. These libraries are open to everyone and operate on a simple self-service basis. ParkBox keeps each location stocked and well-maintained, helping turn local parks into welcoming spaces for families and individuals to read. Role Description
The Reading Tutor is a part-time, hybrid role based in Croydon, with a mix of in-park sessions and preparation for sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing reading inspiration to children and young people using ParkBox libraries, delivering structured reading interventions, and tailoring activities to different ages.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Reading Intervention and Literacy
- Candidates should possess skills in Tutoring
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills
- Experience working with children and young people in educational or community settings is beneficial.
- Ability to create inclusive, culturally responsive learning materials and activities is preferred.
- Basic digital skills for maintaining simple records and using online tools or platforms for remote support are advantageous.
- Relevant training or qualifications in education, literacy, or youth work are an asset but not strictly required.
