Real Assets Research Consultant
A leading UK actuarial and analytics consultancy is looking to appoint a Real Assets Research Consultant to join its highly regarded investment consulting practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an investment professional with experience in real assets, manager research or asset management who enjoys combining rigorous analytical research with practical client outcomes.
The Organisation
Our client is an award-winning consultancy providing advice across pensions, investment, insurance, energy, health and analytics.
Its investment consulting practice advises a broad range of institutional investors, including pension schemes, insurers, charities and other long-term asset owners. The team is recognised for delivering independent, research-led advice and helping clients navigate increasingly complex investment markets.
With institutional interest in private markets and real assets continuing to grow, the research team plays a critical role in identifying high-quality investment opportunities and providing the insight that supports client recommendations.
The Role
You will conduct detailed research across real assets investment strategies, with a particular focus on infrastructure, real estate and related private market sectors.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Researching real assets investment strategies and market developments
- Evaluating investment managers and making clear recommendations on their suitability for institutional investors
- Identifying emerging trends and assessing their implications for client portfolios
- Leading and participating in research meetings with investment managers
- Conducting investment and operational due diligence
- Reviewing fund documentation as part of the manager assessment process
- Producing high-quality research papers, reports and thought leadership
- Supporting the design and implementation of real assets investment strategies
- Working closely with consultants and client-facing teams to ensure research supports wider client objectives
- Building relationships with industry experts and market participants
- Ensuring recommendations are supported by robust analysis, clear documentation and sound investment reasoning
Who We’re Looking For
We are interested in speaking with investment professionals who can demonstrate:
- Several years of experience within real assets research, investment consulting, asset management, wealth management, a fund-of-funds platform, family office or institutional investor
- Strong knowledge of real assets investment strategies and markets
- Experience conducting investment manager research and due diligence
- The ability to develop and communicate clear investment views and recommendations
- Strong written, presentation and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent analytical, organisational and project management capabilities
- A genuine interest in market trends, investment innovation and long-term portfolio construction

Experience assessing environmental and social considerations within real estate or infrastructure investments would be advantageous.
Professional qualifications in investment, finance or a related discipline would be beneficial but are not essential.
