Job title: Real Estate Account Handler

Salary: £40,000 +

Location: London – Hybrid

PURPOSE OF ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Account Handler to join a well-established Real Estate insurance team in London. Working within a specialist property environment, the role will provide support across a portfolio of residential property clients, ensuring a high standard of service throughout the policy lifecycle.

The successful candidate will work closely with Account Executives, insurers and internal teams, helping to manage client requirements, maintain strong relationships and ensure accounts are handled efficiently, accurately and in line with regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take ownership of allocated client accounts and provide a consistent, professional service.
  • Support the Account Executive team with the management and development of client portfolios.
  • Assist with renewal preparation, policy amendments and ongoing account requirements.
  • Coordinate with insurers and internal teams to ensure appropriate terms and documentation are obtained.
  • Develop effective working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all relevant information is captured on internal systems.
  • Help identify potential issues and ensure client queries are resolved promptly.
  • Contribute to client retention by providing a proactive and reliable service.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes and enhance the overall client experience.
  • Identify and pass on potential opportunities for additional business where appropriate.
  • Ensure all activity is undertaken in accordance with FCA requirements and Consumer Duty principles.

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Reviewing and processing client requests, policy changes and account administration.
  • Preparing information required for renewals and assisting with the placement process.
  • Responding to client enquiries and acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day requirements.
  • Obtaining information, quotations and documentation from insurers and following these through to completion.
  • Checking policy documentation for accuracy and ensuring outstanding actions are followed up.
  • Updating Acturis or relevant broking systems with accurate and timely information.
  • Working alongside Account Executives on client activity and account priorities.
  • Managing workloads effectively to ensure agreed deadlines and service standards are maintained.
  • Dealing with issues or queries as they arise and escalating where appropriate.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant insurance, regulatory and market developments.
  • Contributing to team meetings, process improvements and wider business initiatives.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience within an insurance Account Handler, broking or client servicing position.
  • Experience managing commercial insurance accounts and supporting clients throughout the policy lifecycle.
  • Experience within Real Estate, Property Owners or Residential Property insurance would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of insurer markets and insurance placement processes.
  • Experience using Acturis or a similar insurance broking system.
  • Good understanding of FCA requirements and Consumer Duty.
  • Experience working alongside Account Executives and managing client relationships.
  • Cert CII or progress towards a professional insurance qualification is desirable.
