Lakeshield | London
Loan sizes: £5m–£50m | Terms: up to 3 years
About Lakeshield
Lakeshield is a specialist property lender providing tailored funding solutions to property investors, developers, and businesses. We are seeking an experienced originator to grow our lending activity across £5m–£50m property-backed transactions, with loan terms of up to three years.
We are looking for someone with an established network, a proven record of completing transactions, and the commercial judgement to identify credible lending opportunities.
The Role
You will develop and manage a pipeline of property-backed lending opportunities, building relationships with brokers, debt advisers, property investors, developers, and other professional introducers.
Working closely with our credit team, you will assess opportunities, help structure terms, and manage the commercial relationship from initial enquiry through to completion. This is a hands-on origination role with responsibility for your own relationships, pipeline, and lending targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate £5m–£50m property-backed loans with terms of up to three years.
- Develop productive relationships with specialist brokers, debt advisers, and professional introducers.
- Build direct relationships with experienced property investors, developers, and property-owning businesses.
- Assess enquiries, considering borrower experience, security, leverage, cash flow, and repayment strategy.
- Structure and negotiate indicative terms alongside the credit team, balancing borrower requirements with risk and return.
- Gather the information needed to present clear, well-supported lending proposals.
- Act as the principal commercial contact throughout each transaction, working with underwriting, legal advisers, and other stakeholders to progress loans to completion.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline and provide clear forecasts of expected completions.
- Generate repeat business from existing borrowers and introducers.
- Provide market feedback on pricing, competitor activity, and borrower demand.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
