We have an excellent opportunity with our client who is seeking an experienced Real Estate Finance Lawyer to provide interim support to their Real Assets / Private Markets business.
The Role
The successful candidate will support the Real Assets / Private Markets business on a range of debt-focused transactions. Working closely with the investment desk and external counsel, the lawyer will help manage transactions from heads of terms through to closing.
Core Responsibilities
- Supporting debt-focused real estate and private markets transactions from heads of terms through to closing
- Working closely with the investment desk and external counsel to progress live transactions
- Reviewing and negotiating senior finance documentation
- Advising on intercreditor arrangements, security trusts and security packages
- Ensuring client's legal and credit requirements are reflected in transaction documentation
- Providing practical legal support across live deal flow and working closely with internal stakeholders
- Managing transaction processes effectively through to completion

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualified solicitor with approximately 6-10 years' PQE
- Strong finance experience is essential
- Real Estate Finance experience is strongly preferred, although broader corporate debt experience may be considered
- Comfortable working with senior finance documents, inter-creditor arrangements, security trusts and security packages
- Previous in-house experience is important
- Able to work closely with investment professionals and external counsel
- Commercial and pragmatic approach with the ability to get involved in live transactions quickly
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with changing deal flow and competing priorities

Key Details
- Duration: At least 6 months
- Start date: ASAP
- Location: London preferred, Birmingham also possible. Edinburgh may be considered for the right candidate
- Working pattern: Hybrid, approximately 2-3 days per week in the office, with flexibility depending on deal flow and transaction closings
- Interview process: Likely two stages. The first will focus on technical capability, with the second covering competencies and team fit. Other lawyers and potentially a member of the investment desk may also be involved
